Caroline Crocker

Scientist, biology professor, author, speaker, and grandmother.

My Story

I am a scientist by training, with a doctorate in immunopharmacology, a master’s degree in medical microbiology and a bachelor’s degree in microbiology and virology.

My work life has been interesting and varied. Over the past twenty years, I have worked as a biology professor, the CEO for a start-up company, the founder and president of a non-profit, a private tutor, a technical writer, a research scientist, a consultant and a communications expert. These positions have involved public speaking, teaching, all kinds of writing, learning new skills, interaction with people, some stress, some boredom, much travel, and much fun!

Now I am retired–kind of. That is, I write books, put up and maintain their websites, do book tours, interact with agents and publishers, and all the other jobs necessary to being an author. As such, I’m a member of SCBWI, VWC, and CCWF, all writer’s groups.

I am married, have four grown children, eight grandchildren, and an English Bulldog. I love to garden, play the piano, write, and go for long walks in the forest. But, especially, I like to tell true stories that sound like fiction.
